Context and devotional note

This bhajan can be read as a song of arrival. The repeated phrase “ಬಂದ” means “has come,” and every line adds another sacred name or image. The emotional centre is not distance from God, but the sudden nearness of God.

In the story of Sudhama, Krishna’s visit is not only a meeting of friends. It is a revelation of divine affection. Sudhama, poor in worldly wealth but rich in devotion, is overcome because the Lord himself comes to him. This makes the bhajan especially tender: every name of Krishna feels like a footstep at the door.
